Shaping the future of travel and supporting UK economic growth.

About us

Online Travel UK (OTUK) is an association of the companies behind UK’s best known travel search and booking websites and apps, including online travel agencies, metasearch platforms and rail.

Formed in 2023 to be a united industry voice for pro-consumer policy and digital innovation, OTUK collaborates with government, policymakers and regulators to advocate for an innovative, competitive and consumer-centric travel and tourism industry.

Policy

Government policies in travel and technology must embed the principles of good regulation, enable a level playing field in digital markets, and support constructive collaboration throughout the travel ecosystem.

OTUK members’ expertise and investment in technology, combined with a commitment to offering choice, value and protection for their customers’ travel needs, is critical to the future health of the travel and tourism industry. Policy work falls into two main areas; consumer protection and choice and fair and competitive digital markets.

The digital sector, which online travel companies are part of, contributed £158.3 billion to the UK economy in 2022, which was 7.2% of total UK GVA. Bringing travel in line with other digitised sectors of the UK economy will boost demand, increase travel accessibility and help the UK reach its full potential as a travel-tech innovation hub, attracting investment and the best talent.
